PROGRAMME

Since the 1970s the exciting field of Capital Markets Finance has seen significant global growth in terms of the complexity of financial instruments traded and the overall extent of money transacted. This MSc course is designed specifically to impart a thorough knowledge of the operation of global capital markets, the state-of-the-art financial instruments currently employed, advanced pricing tecnniques and global risk management concepts.


The course is ideally suited for those who seek to build on or embark on a career in trading or sales on the trading floor of multi-national banks or corporations. Again, the use of elective courses allow the student to further tailor the course curriculum to their specific needs. The use of the FININFO trading floor at EDHEC is a useful means of putting into practice much of the theory imparted during the courses.

Financial Modelling
Econometric modelling for financial markets, time series forecasting techniques, statistical analysis and VBA/Excel and Matlab programming

Fixed income Analysis and Credit Risk
Coverage of the state-of-the-art techniques used to price fixed income securities and manage bond portfolios, credit pricing theory and credit derivatives
Options and Futures and other Derivatives
Advanced mathematical modelling for pricing options and other derivatives, OTC and exchange traded products, pricing exotic derivatives
Trading the Capital Markets 
Introduction to the practice of trading and market making by combining an analytical approach of market dynamics with practical implementation in hte real-life environment of the EDHEC Fininfo trading room
Market Risk Analysis
In-depth study of risk management for asset liability management companies, corporation and banks

Information Systems
ERP, micro-computing, implementation of information systems

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Typically graduates would be employed in the capital markets division of a multinational bank as traders or market makers in equity, swaps, futures, foreign exchange, options or exotic financial instruments.
