Current Position: Financial Planning Analyst, Ultrasound Business, GE Healthcare, Austria

If I had to choose one word to describe my experience at EDHEC Business School, it would have to be intensity. The programme of study really keeps you busy during throughout the year. However, I would highlight two aspects which I consider as essentials in any programme: the pedagogy and the faculty. The combination of lectures plus project-based learning was very valuable to me. Projects in teams give you the opportunity to consolidate learning from the lectures, share knowledge and opinions with peers, and develop bonds with your classmates. I have come to realise that solving practical cases in teams closely resembles the way corporations operate to resolve issues and reach agreements. Another precious thing about the programme was the fact that we did not only have very knowledgeable professors with background in teaching and research, but we also had lecturers who were working full time in the industry. This resulted in a very good balance between theoretical and practical approach.

Important as well was the social and cultural life. While at EDHEC Business School, I had the opportunity to meet many people with different cultural backgrounds, to travel in France and in other European countries, to get to learn French language and culture. All this contributed to enrich my educational experience.

Right after completing the taught part of the programme, I moved to Paris to start an internship with GE Healthcare. My assignment consisted in acting as Cash Analyst, but I was also involved in other very interesting projects related to credit risk and pricing of products. Work experience is a requirement that complements very well the taught part of the programme because it gives you the opportunity to use and apply the knowledge acquired during the courses. This internship was not only a great learning experience but it also opened me the doors of the company to a permanent job position. Currently I am based in Austria working as Financial Planning Analyst for the business of Ultrasound within GE Healthcare.

In retrospect, EDHEC offered me what I was looking for: a top quality international programme in Finance that prepared me to start a global business career.
